There is precious knowledge to be grasped from every person. Knowledge that can change the way you look at life. While some people pose as great examples of how one should be, there are quite a few that will send you scurrying for cover. I would say, there is something to be learn even from the least desirable individuals. How not to be, perhaps?
Follow up:
I believe that I have learnt the most valuable lessons in life through the people I have met throughout my life. If that makes you wonder if I have had a terrible past, let me assure you that I have had a much loved and amusing life thus far and know that I can definitely look forward to a brilliant future.
Lessons don’t always come in unsightly packages. Whoever believes otherwise must have been hibernating for a long time!
I don’t believe that I have ever told this to any of them, but here is my short list of people who have taught me so much about life:
My Mom - Unconditional Love
My Dad - Being Emphathetic, hardworking
My Husband - Being Unconventionally successful, giving value to relationships
My son - loving life, innocence and always be ready to smile!
Then there are people who don’t really have appealing personalities. They set off alarms in my head, warning me to never follow their footsteps.
My Neighbor - On how a neighbor should not be.
A Friend - On how not to keep dragging one’s feet through life.
Instead of spending valuable time judging and criticising such individuals, I decided to gain from their characteristics instead. What they do or say may send negative vibrations but in return, I emit positive energy that contains gratitude and realization.
Every moment of life is fascinating. It will thrill you, if you would only let it!1 comment
I'd like to add that after reading most of your posts, I think that we both have a very similar way of thinking. At times it feels as if I'm reading my own thoughts. :)
