Take The Job From The Interview

Do you attend an interview knowing that you are going to get that job? Or do you just drag your feet around until someone either shows you the door or you manage to get through the interview? So, what do you really think is standing between you and the job?
All that grooming and qualification is not really going to do much if your knees get wobbly and your palms get sweaty when you get there. Would your composure and attitude change if you knew that you will get that job? If so, how?
Follow up:
You don’t need a crystal ball to tell you what the result would be at the end of the day. Instead, you just have to tell your mind and body that you are going to go out there and grab that job. Even if there are 150 applicants waiting for that job, you can still be the one candidate who will get to work there. Of course, it does not mean that you walk in with a portfolio that matches the job profile like an ostrich would to the North Pole! So, don’t go around getting any wild ideas about lying your way through!
Despite having all the basic requirements, some people end up unemployed for years and they would blame it on everything from luck to the economic crisis. If you allow such thoughts to dominate your subconscious mind, the road to employment has just been extended by a good 5000 miles.
For a change, attend the interview with a different attitude. Go there knowing that you will be selected for the job. It may sound weird but it definitely won’t hurt when you return home with the appointment letter!
How can I be so sure about it? Well, because I have spent many years interviewing people for jobs and this technique always worked for me and those who have tried it too! The same theories that apply for everything else in life, will carry you through this phase too.
The guy next to you may look like the ideal candidate for the job and the interviewer can turn out looking like your worst nightmare but unless you want these reasons to affect you, they can’t.
Instead of conjuring images of worst case scenarios, spend those precious moments visualizing positive outcomes. Don’t allow any negative energy surround you in the form of doubts, fear or anxiety as it will distract the flow of positivity.
Imagine the flow of positive energy flowing through you as you enter the interview room and focus on the good things throughout the time you are there. Yes and keep that smile on too. Nothing can get more infectious than that!
There wil be more of this topic coming up later in this blog.
