That little black dress no longer fits like it used to and the curls on your head lacks sheen and volume. Nothing seems to look quite right anymore and you just don’t have the time to squeeze in for a fitness session either.
We can just drift off in this tone forever but it is just not going to make things look any better. Cosmetic enhancements and therapies may enhance your appearance but if you are not grateful for the body you have now, you will always manage to find a reason why you don’t like the way you look.
Follow up:
On the contrary, if you begin to appreciate the way your body looks now, it will start loving you too. Those flabby thighs need as much love and care as a pair of toned, smooth legs do. If you keep complaining about how awful they look, no amount of sweating it out on the treadmill is going to get improve them.
So, how does loving your body do you any good?
For a start, if you don’t like the way you look, you are sending out negative vibrations to it and your body would react to these vibrations by affirming your thoughts. If you keep thinking that your hip resembles that of a cow, then it will only convince your body to accept that fact, which goes about to ensure that you are not disappointed!
Before you start pointing fingers at me, let me just stress on the fact that I am not implying that you should just be happy with all that fat or freckles! I am saying that you should love the body you have been blessed with while you work towards the body you want!
Imperfections do exist in every body, but it is the way you perceive them that matters. If you keep thinking that you don’t seem to be getting anywhere with your fitness routines, you are only setting yourself up for a very long, miserable journey.
Believe that you have the power to enhance the body you have been blessed with and visualize the end result while you work on it. An ice cream or pack of fries is not going to pile on the calories unless you think it can.
I can go on forever about this topic and I intend to elaborate on it in my book, which I am working on at present. As for now, I hope this snippet will give you a sneak preview of what to expect…
