IT'S TOUGH TO STAY MOTIVATED

I have nothing against motivational and inspirational materials or speakers. In fact, I am an avid reader of many great self-help authors like Dale Carnegie and Steven Covey. It sure does help to read or listen to something that will emotinally uplift you at times. People need to stay motivated and there is an entire industry that serves this need.
Yet, do you often wish that there is more hard proof or facts to something that will reassure you than mere motivation? Like a lottery ticket that proves that you have won 25 million dollars? That’s the kind of hard fact I am talking about. I need to know I will get what I want. I need hard facts that prove it. Dont’ you?
Follow up:
Floating around in a realm of positive thinking is difficult especially when you do not seem to have a definite fact supporting your structure. Building castles in the air and day dreaming are not sins and I learnt that when I was a child.
My teacher was shocked with the way my mom responded to the remark on my report card that said I was not very attentive in class and had the tendency to daydream. My mom was beaming with pride! She knew that I was not going to be a plain Jane and she was proud of that.
I did not become Einstein or Mother Teresa, but I do not follow the ‘yellow brick road’. I learnt that the entire Universe is laid with yellow bricks! I could go whichever way I want. There is more to this optimism than you can see.
This optimism rubbed off from my parents and I was a brilliant student too (much to my teacher’s disbelief!). It took much more than mere motivation to keep me going. There were times when I would wonder, as a young adult, if there really is a way for dreams to come true. Some sort of technique that will transport what I want to me.
Staring at the sky at night, I would feel so connected to the stars in some mysterious way. I could not explain it but somehow, I always felt that if I really wanted something badly, it would happen. Believe me, I am not trying to prove that I have psychic abilities. Instead, I am talking from the very level that you are but with a different perspective to life.
I dare look at life from a different perspective because I know that there are facts that prove it. Scientific facts. It is difficult to remain motivated without facts.
For me, I need to know that I will get what I want and how. So, when I read an inspiring book, I tend to absorb the positive energy with greater faith.
You can do so too….if you only find out what really makes this whole system tick.
