Young Minds That Give Up Too Soon....
Published on May 29th, 2010 @ 07:20:42 am , using 430 words, 177 views

Blame it on pressure from parents, peers or any other authoritative person but the hyper-sensitive nature of many young minds seem to be going out of control. It’s appalling how fragile and insecure the present generation is when it comes to handling tough situations.

How To Be Lucky
Published on January 12th, 2010 @ 05:53:40 pm , using 479 words, 646 views

The realistic, hardworking kind somehow don’t quite like lucky people. They will tell you a dozen negative points about this topic in less than a minute…or maybe a little more.
The truth is, these ‘lucky’ folks don’t really have a fairy godmother watching over them. They simply have found the trick to getting lucky, with or without realizing it.

Your Headlines On a Positive Note: World Warming Up at UN Climate Summit?
Published on December 17th, 2009 @ 09:04:06 pm , using 279 words, 515 views

Global Warming is finally getting the attention it deserved a long time ago but it looks like the heads of countries seem to be creating more heat from the climate summit.
Ego clashes and power-displays seem to take top priority in the itenary rather than the melting glaciers and pollution. When will they learn that the Universe is not concerned as to which country reigns supreme?
This isn’t a race for popularity. It is supposed to be a global effort in saving the human race and everything this magnificent planet contains. All it takes is for people to realize that saving this planet is the responsibility of each one of us. It all starts with you.
I am no political expert to give my views on what the leaders should be doing but its not difficult to see that at the end of the day, we all need a solution that will at least partially restore Earth to its former glory.
It is as much my job as it is of someone living on the North Pole to see that this Universe retains its resources and beauty for the generations that are yet to come.
All it takes is for people to drop their armor and nuclear weapons and start spending that time, money and effort in creating a better world for our children.
I would rather see my children grow up to be peace-loving,caring and understanding people who believe in dreams coming true than those who prefer to watch movies that magnify the possibilities of ‘doomsday’ and live lives that would lead them to their nightmares.
Global Warming - Let’s warm up to loving the Universe together….

Cure From Loneliness
Published on December 14th, 2009 @ 06:23:02 am , using 549 words, 842 views

Let’s break this theory into smaller pieces and magnify them. Conditions like depression inevitably invite a sense of loneliness into the victim’s mind. This can be to a certain extent cured through psychological treatment but nothing is far better a physician than one’s mind.

Challenge The Idle Mind
Published on November 26th, 2009 @ 01:47:19 pm , using 626 words, 539 views

Find yourself worrying about everything that happens around you lately? Are those work hours really dragging into the nights for your spouse? Is your neighbor spying on you? Why have your pals not been calling you much nowadays? Was it something you said or did at the party last weekend? You get the point??
Well..if you spend a major chunk of precious time worrying over such issues each day, it does not mean that you’re walking away with an award for being the most cautious person in town. It only means that you actually do have more spare time in your hands than you should.
In case you haven’t noticed already, our brains are built to multi-think and that makes it easy for it to get you thinking about something totally different even if you are in the midst of a task that could be put on the auto-pilot mode.

The 'Album' In Your Mind
Published on October 5th, 2009 @ 11:46:14 am , using 790 words, 607 views
Fortunetly, life gives every one of us these precious moments that can never be erased from our minds. Moments that seem to stand still for ages, deep within the tiniest crevices of the heart and mind. These moments make me proud of being a human.

Rediscovering Your Independence
Published on September 17th, 2009 @ 07:11:16 pm , using 519 words, 800 views

Although I would refrain from placing relationships under a negative scanner in most circumstances, the reason why I have made the choice to do so today is merely to point out to people who are undergoing tremendous stress and emotional anguish just because they manage to find themselves on the wrong side of depending on someone - that independence is a choice they have in life.

When It Is Time To Hibernate
Published on August 25th, 2009 @ 07:25:51 pm , using 601 words, 776 views
I took some time away from everything to refrain and reflect, which did a great deal of good to my mind and soul. I must admit that I feel better, stronger and healthier than I have in many months.
Some call it my hibernation process. Frankly, I cannot think of a better term to describe this phase. No, I don’t move in to my backyard and hide in a burrow of sorts till winter passes by. Neither was I running away to hide from it all.
I would not refer to it as a ’stopping by to smell the flowers’ syndrome but I did do that quite a bit too.
Why would one hibernate when everything is going in the right direction? To look around, think and rest. We are not built to work like machines. Anyone who claims to be doing that knows that he or she is not too far from a nervous breakdown.

Let’s Not Get Too Comfortable
Published on July 23rd, 2009 @ 07:21:14 pm , using 719 words, 1414 views

One thing I have noticed throughout life is – people are never truly happy being where they are, no matter who they are. Each one has his or her unique way of expressing it.
We all want more from life but it all boils down to how many of us actually get down to doing something about it. Like I mentioned in another article:
“If you don’t change your direction from time to time, the change happens anyway but you may not like where you are headed.”

The Undeniable Power Of Saying "NO"
Published on July 13th, 2009 @ 09:26:39 pm , using 645 words, 487 views

There came a point in my life when I realized how much more happier I would be if I learnt to refuse some things that came my way. This is when I looked at life as a buffet.

Celebrating Life
Published on July 7th, 2009 @ 09:27:28 pm , using 418 words, 253 views
Not many of us celebrate life as much as we deserve to. We are far too engrossed in surviving to wonder if we are truly living. This Universe is far too enchanting for us to miss if we would just stop to look. Our lives are so full of blessings and beauty if we were to just notice.

Limits Of The Mind
Published on June 25th, 2009 @ 11:17:52 pm , using 294 words, 841 views

As for those who refuse to take no for an answer and would even dare reach out beyond the skies, their goals often appear too high and unreasonable to others. It may not really go down well with the audience when the big dreamer hits more home runs than anyone did imagine.

The Right Words Do Matter
Published on June 12th, 2009 @ 01:31:30 am , using 300 words, 1158 views

Living in possibly one of the warmest cities on this planet, it is probably too easy to give up the ‘cool’ attitude and very few seem to resist the ‘hot’ offer. All conversations either begin or lead to the climatic condition and I often find myself in them at least twice a day.
I don’t try to duck each time someone mentions how horribly hot the day is. That would not make me feel any better about the weather or the conversation. Instead, a smarter way of approaching certain unpleasant issues would be to use milder or more positive words to describe them.

When It Is Ok to Cry....
Published on June 3rd, 2009 @ 07:50:30 pm , using 635 words, 755 views
It is ok to feel sad or angry. A few weeks ago, I discovered that a very close friend of mine was betraying me each day for almost 2 years by spreading awful rumors about me to practically everyone we knew. That appalled me beyond belief and I was very hurt and upset. She had misused my trust in the most disgusting manner possible. To make things worse, when she realized that I had found out about it, she tried every possible way to annoy me and it still happens every now and then (she also happens to be a neighbor).
I could have pretended to bury the negative emotions under the rug and go on with life as if nothing ever happened but that would be denying the truth. Staying positive also means that you should know how to deal with negative circumstances.

Right Now As You Read This...
Published on May 24th, 2009 @ 02:18:02 am , using 529 words, 953 views

Well, just when I was thinking about what I should write about today, I received a call from a close friend saying that her sister had just had a baby. One of the most precious moments in any parent’s life. I still remember the first time I stared into my son’s big brown eyes.
Anyway, there are so many wonderful things happening on this planet no matter how ignorant you are about it. Let’s not get pessimistic and start thinking of all the horrible things that could also be happening right now. I would rather not think about something negative unless I can do something to change it.

Love While You Can
Published on May 14th, 2009 @ 04:59:55 pm , using 517 words, 770 views

Why else do we see more divorces and nuclear families nowadays? It is largely because most of us take our loved ones for granted. Sprinting up the career ladder is an admirable quality but you must halt once in a while to look behind you to see if you are at the risk of losing more than you would like to, when you get to the top.

Time Management - The Internal Rival.
Published on May 7th, 2009 @ 02:25:51 pm , using 701 words, 473 views

I must stress that I am not writing only for selective individuals who have all the time in the world to keep adding more activities into their day. I believe that we all have been blessed with 24 hours in a day and it is more of how we manage our day that defines our status.
There are hundreds of time management strategies available but even the most productive ones will not make any difference if you don’t change the way you think.
