Humans and butterflies have a similar life cycle, which not many of us are aware of. Only a few of us ever cross the cocoon stage. If you were to take a closer look, you should be able to notice the uncanny resemblance.

How Would You Sell Yourself?
Published on March 27th, 2009 @ 12:30:27 am , using 524 words, 239 views
Humans are natural salespeople. We are constantly selling something, consciously or even otherwise. Although we refrain from using the term ’sell’ to describe it, it all eventually depends on how good you are at ’selling’ yourself as a person to others.

Bring Out The Brighter Colors...
Published on March 24th, 2009 @ 12:10:49 pm , using 675 words, 183 views

If you have been lucky enough to be able to spend some quality time with a toddler (like I do), you would be able to relate to what I have to share today, much faster than others.
There are some basic traits that come in every young child that one can’t help but adore. Leaving the exhaustive nappy changes and mentally draining tantrums aside, I feel that my 2 year old teaches me more about life than the world at large can!
I don’t know how many children actually wake up with a broad smile each day, but mine certainly does. He is always excited about waking up and facing another day. I may not exactly feel as enthusiastic about waking up as he does, but trust me, his attitude is infectious. Soon, I am looking forward to a beautiful and fun-filled day too.
A baby’s smile can melt even the most coldest of hearts. Mine isn’t cold but I certainly smile a lot more than I used to, which has done wonders for my composure.

Lie Your Way To The Life You Want...
Published on March 22nd, 2009 @ 12:08:47 pm , using 526 words, 200 views
A lie can also be told to make a person feel better or achieve more than what was thought as possible. The mind can be made to believe in just about anything. In children, fairy tales come to life from the books and movies that depict them. They weave colorful dreams and fantasies in young minds. These fantasies are lies unless proven otherwise.

It Could Have Been Worse, But It Isn't...
Published on March 19th, 2009 @ 07:12:07 pm , using 428 words, 281 views

How is that possible?
When you help those in need and they express gratitude, how does that make you feel? Does it feel great to be appreciated? Would you help them out in future too? You obviously would!
Well, what if your effort is not appreciated and they criticize and humiliate you instead? Would that affect the way you feel about them? What are the possibilities of you jumping in to help them should another similar situation arise? Very bleak? I won’t blame you for that.

Mind Your Language

I was just reading an article on the headline-grabbing ‘dying’ Jade Goody and how much of an impact she has made in the lives of people around her and throughout the planet.
An outpour of mixed emotions ranging from hatred and disgust to empathy and hopelessness has been portrayed almost everywhere, probably much to the glee of the paparazzi, which is preparing itself to turn her funeral into a spectacle resembling that of the late Princess Diana!

I have been leading an active life where I juggle between my career, domestic chores and responsibilities besides maintaining a fairly regular fitness schedule.
My doctor was shocked when I passed the scan report over. I swear her eyes resembled huge plates!

What starts off as a timy spark soon turns into a raging fire that engulfs everything that comes in the way. Not all of it is negative in character but most of it can ruffle more feathers than expected.

Passing Grades Made Too Easy

We all have gone through it and know how it feels to sit through endless hours buried in a mountain of textbooks. Some of us would just memorize the text right off the pages while others lift the context from them. I would recommend the latter anyday.
Having an excellent memory is great, especially when you have to remember numerous formulae. However, when it comes to absorbing theories, the better way of getting through all the chapters is by comprehending them. It is easier to lift the context than the entire content.
What does this topic have to do with UToL? Well, it does have a lot to do with it.

Drowning Your Fears Of Water
Published on March 11th, 2009 @ 12:48:06 am , using 508 words, 92 views
and have not always taken to water like a fish. In fact, I was aquaphobic until I was in my teens. I would panic if I was made to stand in a pool with water up to my chest. My biggest nightmare would be to not feel the ground below my feet.
It took years for me to gain the courage to learn swimming. I had to conquer my mind to accept the fact that I would not drown as long as I did not allow myself to do so.
You only drown when you panic. You begin to struggle and gasp, permitting water to enter your lungs and before you know it…you are drowning.
Water is an extremely gentle element, which has the ability to support even the heaviest mammal on this planet! When you allow your weight to be supported by this element, it calms your body and mind. It is therapeutic.
So, why do people drown? They drown because they believe that this element is incapable of supporting them or keeping them afloat.

I knew that I could never only expect positive remarks from my audience or readers because there are two sides to a coin and you can’t have one and not the other. Life has always amazed me in that aspect.
Can you think of one subject or object on this planet that has only been perceived positively since creation? Not one. UToL is no exception. I don’t expect it to, although it would be fantastic if it is.

Possessed By Thoughts
Published on March 9th, 2009 @ 12:25:41 am , using 898 words, 130 views

Although this happened more than two decades ago, it remains etched in my mind as one of the most amusing incidents that affected my life…
We used to live in a beautiful neighborhood that was surrounded by a public park during my early childhood. Surrounded by lush greenery and playground, it used to be a haven for me and my friends who frequented the park after school.
In fact, my mom used to walk me through the park each day to get to school and back.
I still remember the beautiful frangipanni trees that would sprinkle their vibrant flowers on the footpaths and the ripe mangoes that hung low enough for me to pluck them. It was a paradise of sorts for a small person like me.
There was this particularly huge frangipanni tree that stood along the way, which we always passed on our way to and from school each day. We must have walked past it at least a few hundred times.

What Goes Around, Comes Around...

Money, has to flow like water and not be stashed away and stared at constantly. If you think you would end up a pauper if you did so, you obviously have no idea what you are missing!
This may not go down well with many people, espeically during this ‘economic crisis’, but some facts never change; whatever be the situation. The Universe is least bothered about the recession and it will remain unaffected. Its theories work just as well now as it ever has or will. The recessiona was made by man and not the Universe. The economic crunch has had absolutely no effect on the Universe. The flowers still bloom!
Likewise, if you allow money to flow through you, it will come around right back to you. The Universe does not believe that only some people on this planet should be wealthy. Everyone deserves wealth, happiness and peace as much as you do.
Money, like every other matter; is at its best when permitted to flow freely. Water, air and energy need to flow to remain pure and active.
By this, I am not giving you the green light to spend every dime you have buying stuff that is going to just lie in your attic! That would be wasting precious elements.

The Placebo Effect On Life
Published on March 3rd, 2009 @ 11:03:58 pm , using 412 words, 124 views

Studies on drugs are never complete without the inclusion of a placebo. They play a vital role in the identification and evaluation process, which define the thin line between the effectiveness of the drug and relative psychosomatic conditions.
You would never know if you have taken a placebo before the results are produced. Sometimes, the results baffle even the most brilliant minds. These sugar coated imitations can play many tricks with your brain. It can even make you believe that it is indeed the actual drug and that it will heal you! What was that noise? Is that your stomach doing somersaults?
